Day 01 Delhi

On arrival, your Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport, and accompany you to your hotel to help you with the check–in formalities. You will spend the night here.

Day 02 New Delhi - Haridwar

After breakfast this morning, you will take the train to Haridwar. Haridwar, literally means ‘gateway to god’ and is a holy city situated on the banks of the River Ganges. The area attracts millions of pilgrims every year and you will see many of them floating little lamps on the river to commemorate their deceased ancestors. Here you will be met and escorted to your hotel. After lunch, you will go to Har ki Pauri, the most sacred ghat in Haridwar, where many pilgrims bathe to purify themselves of their sins.

You will witness the evening aarti, a moving religious ceremony, when people offer prayers to the sacred Ganges River.

You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Haridwar - Joshimath ( 245 Kms - 8-9 Hrs )

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Joshimath, a hill station and popular centre of pilgrimage. En route you will visit Devprayag a town dotted with temples. On arrival you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 04 Joshimath - Govindghat ( 22 Kms /1 Hr ) - Ghangaria ( 14 Kms- 3-4 Hrs )

This morning, you will have an early breakfast, and drive to Govindghat. This is the starting point for your trek through the Valley of Flowers. From this point, you will trek to Ghangaria, along a popular pilgrim trail.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening, you can explore the natural beauty of the area before turning in for the night.

Day 05 Ghangaria – Valley of Flower - Ghangaria ( 5 Kms one side - 4-5 Hrs) 

This morning, you will have breakfast and trek to the Valley Of Flowers. Here you will see an enormous array of flowers including asters, marsh marigold, geraniums and literally countless other species. The sight is truly magical!

Afterwards, you will return to Ghangaria to spend the night at your hotel.

Day 06 Ghangaria – Hemkund – Ghangaria ( 6 Kms one side- 4 Hrs 30 - 5 Hrs ) 

This morning, you will have breakfast and trek to Hemkund Sahib, a place of holy pilgrimage for the Sikh community. Here you will enjoy the shore of a lake surrounded by seven snow-capped mountains. You will trek back to Ghangaria and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 07 Ghangaria – Govind Ghat - Joshimath

After breakfast you will trek back to GovindGhat and then drive back to Joshimath. You will check in to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore the area. In the evening, you will visit Auli.

A popular ski resort, Auli is blessed with panoramic views of the lofty peaks surrounding it. You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 08 Joshimath – Haridwar ( 245 Kms - 8-9 Hrs)

Early this morning, you will drive to Haridwar with a packed breakfast. En route, you will visit Rudraprayag, a place blessed with immense natural beauty and religious significance. You will have lunch on the way.

On arrival in Haridwar, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 09 Haridwar - Delhi

After an early breakfast, you will go to Har ki Pauri, the most sacred ghat in Haridwar, where many pilgrims bathe to purify themselves of their sins and offer prayers to the Ganges. You will then have some free time to relax before boarding your train to Delhi.

Here you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 10 Delhi

This morning you will explore the city of Delhi. You begin with a visit to the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will also enjoy a memorable rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi.

You will also get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate.

In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

After lunch in the city, you will visit Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

After dinner, you will head to the airport. Your Kamalan representative will help you board your flight home.

EXTENSION AGRA

Day 11 Delhi – Agra ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning you will have breakfast and leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. After lunch in the city, you will leave to visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box.

You will then return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 12 Agra – Delhi ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Early this morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal. Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

You will return to your hotel for breakfast and afterwards you will visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.

Next you will leave for Delhi. Here you will have lunch in the city and have some time to explore Delhi on your own. After dinner, you will head to the airport to catch your return flight.

EXTENSION JAIPUR & AGRA

Day 11 Delhi – Jaipur ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture. On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

Afterwards, you will visit Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, a popular landmark in Jaipur. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework. In the evening, you will have some time to explore the local bazaar before returning to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

Afterwards you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

After lunch in the city, you will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730. Day 13 Jaipur – Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

EXTENSION AMRITSAR

Day 11 Delhi - Amritsar

This morning, you will either have breakfast at your hotel or carry a packed breakfast and board your train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will explore the city of Amritsar. You will begin with a visit to the Golden Temple. This is the most significant temple for the Sikh community. The ‘langar’ or community kitchen serves free meals all year round to roughly 40,000 visitors a day. It is truly a remarkable experience to visit this place of worship.

You will then visit the Wagah Border. The Wagah border is India’s only road crossing border with neighboring Pakistan. It is a ceremonial border, where every evening, the guards from both countries perform the ‘lowering of the flags’. This moving ceremony attracts many tourists on either side of the border.

Next you will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Amritsar - Delhi

After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the Jallianwala Bagh. This small park was the site of a massacre in 1919 spearheaded by a British general. This event caused general unrest and agitations and was one of the precursors to India’s struggle for freedom. Next you will visit the Durgiana temple. Dedicated to the Goddess Durga, this temple is based on the architecture of the Golden Temple. You will then visit Rambagh, the palace and gardens of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The summer palace has now been converted into a museum holding weapons and portraits.

You will also visit Khalsa College, a historic educational institute. Next comes a visit toe the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. The museum houses old coins, manuscripts, arms and armour.

Afterwards, you will take the train or a flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 13 Delhi

After breakfast, you will visit the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, the most prominent Sikh Temple in Delhi. It has a brilliant golden dome that makes the structure instantly recognizable. Built in 1783, the temple attracts millions of visitors annually.

You will then visit the National Museum, which houses artifacts dating back 5000 years. Afterwards, you will visit the Birla temple or Laxminarayan Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Hindu trinity.

After lunch in the city you will have some time to explore the city on your own.

Later you will return to your hotel. Your Kamalan representative will accompany you to the airport to help you check in so you can board your flight home.

EXTENSION GOA

Day 11 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check in to the hotel and have lunch. Later, you will head to explore the Goan churches and cathedrals. You will start with a visit to the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.

Next you visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

St. Catherine’s Church stands out as a pale yellow structure with distinctly Renaissance features. The Archaeological Survey of India now protects the church.

You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.

The Miramar beach is a beautiful golden beach with soft sand, and dotted with palm trees. With its captivating views, it is an ideal location for lovely long walks along the shore.

Explore the Dona Paula fishing village that was named after Dona Paula de Menezes, the wife o a nobleman who died as a young woman. These days it famous for water sports as much as being a lover’s paradise.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 & 13 Goa

For the next two days you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine... Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 14 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you will catch a flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

Day 11 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch a flight to Varanasi.

The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique. On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

In the evening, you will witness the prayer ceremony that is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. The sunset ceremony is truly a sight to behold!

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 12 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will return to your hotel and have breakfast. In the afternoon you will head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts. You will also visit the Sarnath Museum.

You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 13 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax or explore the city on your own. You will then catch your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you will have a room to wash and change before heading to the airport to catch your return flight.
