Day 01 Mumbai
On your arrival, your Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport and accompany you to your hotel to help you check in. You will spend the night here.
Day 02 Mumbai - Aurangabad
This morning, you will have breakfast and explore the city of Mumbai. The bustling metropolis of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) was originally a collection of tiny fishing villages. In the mid 18th century, Mumbai emerged as an important trading town. Since then, Mumbai has only grown in importance and today is the financial capital of India.
Here you will visit the Gateway of India. This monument, located on the waterfront in South Mumbai, was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The monument was completed in 1924. The monument was meant to be the first sight for all visitors coming to Bombay by boat.
You will also visit the Victoria Terminus, now called Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a brilliant example of colonial architecture.
In the afternoon, you will catch your flight to Aurungabad where your Kamalan representative will meet you and help you check in to your hotel. You will spend the night here.
Day 03 Aurangabad
After breakfast you will visit the caves at Ellora. Excavations at the Ellora caves have revealed Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples and monasteries. The caves at Ellora have been designated a World Heritage site and the finest examples of Indian rock cut architecture.
You will return to the city for a visit to the holy shrine of the Deccan Muslims, where the Mughal Emperor Aurungzeb is believed to be buried.
Afterwards you will visit the Bibi ka Maqbara. This mausoleum was constructed in the 17th century under the patronage of Prince Azam Shah, the son of Emperor Aurungzeb as a tribute to his mother. Since this monument has long been compared to the Taj Mahal, its beauty has often been overlooked. You will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 04 Aurangabad – Ajanta ( 110 Kms - 2 Hrs ) & Ajanta – Jalgoan ( 90 Kms - 2 Hrs )
After breakfast you will travel by bus to visit the Ajanta Caves. Another World Heritage Site, these ancient caves contain spectacular Buddhist paintings and sculptures dating back to the 2nd century BCE.
After lunch, you will head to Jalgaon, a major center for trade and agriculture. Here you will check in and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 05 Jalgoan – Omkaleshwar –Maheshwar ( 240 Kms - 6 Hrs )
This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Maheshwar, a place famous for its historical temples and fine textiles.
En route you will visit Omkareshwar temple, located on the banks of the Narmada River. Afterwards, you will visit the ghats at Maheshwar before spending the night at your hotel.
Day 06 Maheshwar – Mandu ( 60 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 )
This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Mandu. Under Mughal rule, Mandu was a pleasure resort and still has many magnificent structures in stone showing off its past.
Here you will check in to your hotel on arrival. After lunch, you will visit the Jahaz Mahal or ship palace. Built between two artificial lakes, the palace has balconies and pavilions that overlook the water. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 07 Mandu
After breakfast, you will visit the Jama Masjid. The great mosque of Damascus inspired this mosque. Facing the Jama Masjid, you will visit the Ashrafi Mahal, which was built as a place for Islamic teachings.
After lunch at your hotel, you will visit the Rani Roppmati Pavillion that stands a top a hill. Next you will visit the Hathi Mahal, or ‘Elephant Palace’. The pillars at the palace resemble the legs of an elephant and thus it found its name. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 08 Mandu – Indore ( 100 Kms - 2 Hrs 30 )
This morning, you will leave for Indore. Situated on the banks of two rivers, the city was planned and built by a famous Indian queen.
Here you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit Lalbagh, one of the best neo-classical palaces in the country.
Afterwards, you will visit the Kanch ka Mandir, a Jain temple built entirely out of glass. You will take a walk in the local markets adjacent to the temple before returning to your hotel. Here you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 09 Indore – Bhopal ( 225 Kms - 5 Hrs )
This morning you will leave for Bhopal after breakfast. Bhopal is a city of great scenic beauty and is dotted with lakes. Here you will check in to your hotel.
After lunch, you will visit the Moti Masjid, built in 1860 akin to Delhi’s Jama Masjid.
Afterwards, you will visit the Archeological Museum that contains paintings from various schools of art. You will then return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 10 Bhopal – Sanchi – Bhopal ( 46 kms - 1 Hrs ) and Bhopal - Agra
After early breakfast, you will leave for an excursion to Udaigiri. Here you will see magnificent caves with fine examples of art from the Gupta period. You will also visit the renowned Sanchi stupa. The great emperor Ashoka built this stupa on the relics of the Buddha.
You will return to Bhopal in time to board your train to Agra. Here you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.
Day 11 Agra
After breakfast, you will visit the Taj Mahal.
Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel. You will also visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.
Next you will visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box.
You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 12 Agra – Jaipur ( 250 Kms- 5 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Jaipur. En route, you will visit Fatehpur Sikri followed by lunch. Built by the emperor Akbar about 35 kms from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is home to many historical buildings. Akbar wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his headquarters, however, he had to abandon it due to shortage of water. Today, Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 13 Jaipur
This morning, you will explore the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur. You will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!
After lunch, you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.
You will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730. After lunch, you will have some to go shopping in the local markets and perhaps pick up some souvenirs of your trip. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 14 Jaipur – Delhi ( 250 Kms - 5 Hrs )
After early morning breakfast, you will leave for Delhi. Here you will have lunch in the city and afterwards explore Old Delhi.You will take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!
You will get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.
You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.
Later, you will head to the airport to board your flight home.
EXTENSION VARANASI:
Day 15 Delhi - Varanasi
After breakfast, you will have breakfast at leisure and relax at your hotel. After an early lunch, you will board your flight to Varanasi.
The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.
On arrival, you will check into your hotel.
In the evening, you will take a boat ride on the River Ganges. Here every evening, a prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. The sunset ceremony is truly a sight to behold!
You will then return to your hotel to spend the night
Day 16 Varanasi
Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.
You will return to your hotel and have breakfast. In the afternoon you will head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts. You will also visit the Sarnath Museum.
You will have lunch and in the evening you will board your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.
Day 17 Varanasi - Delhi
After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax or explore the city on your own before heading the airport to board your flight home.
EXTENSION GOA
Day 15 Delhi - Goa
After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa.Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state.
Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.
Afterwards, you will explore the Goan churches and cathedrals. You will start with a visit to the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.
Next you visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.
St. Catherine’s Church stands out as a pale yellow structure with distinctly Renaissance features. The Archaeological Survey of India now protects the church.
You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.
The Miramar beach is a beautiful golden beach with soft sand, and dotted with palm trees. With its captivating views, it is an ideal location for lovely long walks along the shore.
You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.
Day 16 & 17 Goa
For the next two days, you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.
Day 18 Goa - Delhi
After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi.
After you check into your hotel, you will have the opportunity to explore Old Delhi. First you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.
You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!
Next you will visit the Red Fort. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.
After lunch in the city, you will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.
The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

EXTENSION AMRITSAR
Day 15 Delhi - Amritsar
This morning, you will either have breakfast at your hotel or carry a packed breakfast and board your train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will explore the city of Amritsar. You will begin with a visit to the Golden Temple. This is the most significant temple for the Sikh community. The ‘langar’ or community kitchen serves free meals all year round to roughly 40,000 visitors a day. It is truly a remarkable experience to visit this place of worship.
You will then visit the Wagah Border. The Wagah border is India’s only road crossing border with neighboring Pakistan. It is a ceremonial border, where every evening, the guards from both countries perform the ‘lowering of the flags’. This moving ceremony attracts many tourists on either side of the border.
Next you will return to your hotel to spend the night.
Day 16 Amritsar - Delhi
After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the Jallianwala Bagh. This small park was the site of a massacre in 1919 spearheaded by a British general. This event caused general unrest and agitations and was one of the precursors to India’s struggle for freedom. Next you will visit the Durgiana temple. Dedicated to the Goddess Durga, this temple is based on the architecture of the Golden Temple. You will then visit Rambagh, the palace and gardens of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The summer palace has now been converted into a museum holding weapons and portraits.
You will also visit Khalsa College, a historic educational institute. Next comes a visit toe the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. The museum houses old coins, manuscripts, arms and armour.
Afterwards, you will take the train or a flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 17 Delhi

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 15 Delhi - Shimla
After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.
On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.
You will spend the night at your hotel.
Day 16 & 17 Shimla
After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla. You can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.
You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.
Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!
Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.
The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 15 Delhi - Haridwar - Ananda OR Delhi - Dehradun – Ananda
Today you will either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

Day 16 and Day 17 Ananda
