Day 01 Mumbai

On arrival in Mumbai, your Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport and accompany you to your hotel to help you check in. The bustling metropolis of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) was originally a collection of tiny fishing villages. In the mid 18th century, Mumbai emerged as an important trading town. Since then, Mumbai has only grown in importance and today is the financial capital of India.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 02 Mumbai - Ahmedabad

This morning, you will have breakfast and head to the airport to board your flight to Ahmedabad. This is the largest city in Gujarat, also called the ‘Manchester of the East’ thanks to the numerous industries here.

It also has a majestic past and is dotted with monuments. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening, you will visit the Siddhi Sayed Masjid. This mosque is renowned for its exquisite stone carvings that transforms into exquisite filigree.

Next you will visit the Swaminarayan Temple. Famous for it’s amazing wooden carvings, people from all over the country throng here annually. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 03 Ahmedabad – Dasada ( 126 Kms - 4 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Dasada, located on the edge of the little Rann of Kutch. En route, you will visit the Akshardham temple in Gandhi Nagar. This temple is one of the largest temple complexes in the state of Gujarat. Named after Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhi Nagar is the capital of Gujarat. You will have lunch here.

On arrival in Dasada, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening, you will drive to the Little Rann of Kutch and perhaps spot the famous wild ass and migratory birds from the nearby marshlands.

You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04 Dasada - Bhuj ( 150 Kms - 4 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and head to the local DSP/Collector’s office to obtain your permit to visit the Banny village. Here you will see traditional villages, their art and culture.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. In the evening, you will explore Bhuj. The city of Bhuj is one of the western most cities in the country. It is an old walled city and was the site of a major earthquake in 2001.

Day 05 Bhuj – Rajkot ( 260 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Rajkot. The city of Rajkot has a long history and played a significant role in the Independence movement of India.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit the Watson Museum, which houses previous objects from India’s colonial past. You will spend some time exploring the city before returning to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 06 Rajkot – Sasangir ( 180 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Sasan gir. The Sasan Gir national park and wildlife sanctuary is the only surviving habitat of the Asiatic lion. It also harbors panthers, hyenas, Indian deer, bears and langurs.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will leave for a jeep safari to the Sasan gir lion sanctuary. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 07 Sasangir – Somnath – Diu ( 120 Kms - 3 Hrs )

After breakfast this morning, you will head to Diu. This fishing town is an island off the south coast of Gujarat. It was once a Portuguese colony like Goa . En route you will visit Somnath. Legend has it that the original Somanth Temple was built by the Moon God himself.  

On arrival in Diu, you will check into your hotel. After lunch, you will have some free time to relax on the beach. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 08 Diu – Bhavnagar ( 200 Kms - 4 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will visit the Diu Fort. This monument boasts majestic stonework and was built in 1535.

Afterwards, you will visit the famous churches in Diu that include St. Thomas’ Church that has now been converted into a museum, housing artifacts from when Diu was under Portuguese rule.

Afterwards, you will leave for Bhavnagar. This relatively young city is an important trading post for cotton products. A visit here offers visitors a chance to see many shades of traditional Gujarati culture. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel.

After lunch, you will visit the Takteshwar Temple, a popular landmark situated on a hillock with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. You will also visit the Lock Gate. A popular tourist spot situated near the docks, the Lock Gate helps ships from stay afloat when the tide is low. You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 09 Bhavnagar – Palitana – Vadodara ( 340 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After an early breakfast, you will visit Palitana, a religious Jain city that has approximately 860 Jain temples. The complex of temples are built atop a hill and called the Place of Victory.

After lunch in Palitana, you will drive to Vadodara. This city has rich history and culture with a modern outlook. It is called the garden city of Gujarat.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night here.

Day 10 Vadodara - Mumbai

After breakfast, you will visit the ancient museum that is packed with amazing array of artifacts. Next you will visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace. This is fact a series of palaces that is reputed to have been one of the largest private dwellings in the 19th century.

You will have lunch and in the evening, board your flight to Mumbai. Here you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 11 Mumbai

After breakfast, you will visit the Elephanta Caves. This is a complex of Hindu caves with beautiful high reliefs and is a world heritage site.

You will have lunch in the city and then visit the Gateway of India. This monument, located on the waterfront in South Mumbai, was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The monument was completed in 1924. The monument was meant to be the first sight for all visitors coming to Bombay by boat.

You will have time to wash, change and rest before heading to the airport to board your return flight.

EXTENSION NASHIK
Day 11 Mumbai – Nashik ( 185 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will leave for Nashik after breakfast. You will have lunch and in the evening visit Ramkund.

Ramkund is an important spot for pilgrims as it is believed that Lord Ram bathed here while in exile. It is a lively place with markets nearby. You will also have the opportunity to visit some temples in Nashik. You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Nashik

After breakfast, you will visit the Sula Vineyards. Rajeev Samant started this young vineyard in the late 90’s, after quitting his job in the Silicon Valley. Since then, Sula wines have grown in popularity and considered to be India’s finest wines. The vienyards now cover approximately 1500 acres of plantations.

You will have the day to tour the vineyards and visit the picturesque Tasting Rooms at the vineyard that has panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The vineyards also have a beautifully landscaped amphitheatre that hosts a variety of events. The vineyard also has a charming restaurant ‘Little Italy’ that’s offers visitors a unique dining experience.

You will have the evening at leisure and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 13 Nashik – Mumbai ( 185 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will catch a train back to Mumbai. After lunch in the city, you will have some time to explore the Gateway of India. This monument, located on the waterfront in South Mumbai, was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The monument was completed in 1924. The monument was meant to be the first sight for all visitors coming to Mumbai by boat.

You will have the opportunity to wash and change before heading to the airport for your return flight.

EXTENSION GOA
Day 11 Mumbai - Goa

This morning, you will head to the airport after breakfast to board your flight to Goa. On arrival, you will head to your hotel to check in.

After lunch, you will visit the Church of St Francis of Assisi. This church, originally built around 1551, by a group of Franciscan friars, was later demolished. The present church was built in 1661. After the Portuguese closed the convent in 1835, it fell into a state of disrepair. In 1964, the Archaeological Survey of India resurrected the church, and it now also houses a museum.

Next you will visit the Cathedral of Bom Jesus. This Basilica has long attracted Catholics from all over the world as it houses the mortal remains of St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa. His body is embalmed in glass coffin inside a silver coffin.

After visiting the churches, you will walk through the old Portuguese colonies.

Day 12 & 13 Goa

You can spend the next couple of day exploring the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 14 Goa - Mumbai

This evening you will board your flight to Mumbai to catch your connecting flight back home. Your Kamalan representative will be there to assist you to board you flight.
