Day 01 Chennai

On arrival you will be met by a representative of Kamalan Travels at the airport who will accompany you to the hotel and will assist with check-in formalities. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 02 Chennai – Tirupati ( 160 Kms - 4 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head to Tirupati most famous for its temple that attracts millions of visitors annually.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and after lunch, you will visit the famed temple. It is richest temple in the country with a long history. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Tirupati – Vijayawada (407 kms - 6 Hrs 30 )

This morning, you will leave for Vijaywada, the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh, famous for its temples, trade and commerce.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the Kondapali village, famous for the skilled craftsmen making unique wooden toys. You will also visit the Kanaka Durga temple. This beautiful temple is dedicated to the Goddess Kanaka Durga and plays an important role in local celebrations. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04 Vijayawada – Nagarjuna Sagar ( 200 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and leave to visit Nagarjuna Sagar, a prominent Buddhist center and tourist spot. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.

In the afternoon you will visit the Nagarjuna Konda, a historical Buddhist town where excavations revealed Buddhist relics in 1926. You will also visit Anupu, the amphitheatre and other relics. You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 05 Nagarjuna Sagar – Hyderabad ( 200 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Hyderabad. The city of Hyderabad has a glorious history and is also famous for its pearls. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.

Afterwards, you will visit the Ananda Buddha Vihara, a complex created for the revival and promotionof Buddhist culture.

You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 06 Hyderabad

After breakfast, you will visit the Golconda Fort, from where the Deccan was ruled and famous for its fantastic acoustics. The region was also renowned for its diamonds. You will return to your hotel for lunch.

Afterwards, you will visit the Char Minar, an impressive structure with four minarets built in the Islamic style. You will also visit the Nizam’s museum with a breathtaking collection of antiques that were mostly gifts and possessions of the Nizams of the region. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 07 Hyderbad – Bidar ( 135 Kms - 4 Hrs ) & Bidar – Gulbarga ( 120 Kms - 3 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Gulburga, which has many ancient monuments from the time of the Bahamani rulers from the 13th to the 15th century.

En route you will visit Bidar, another important historical town with an association with the Bahamani rulers. Here you will visit the city, and also the Sikh temple, the Gurudwara Nank Jhira Sahib. This temple is very popular, as it is believed that Guru Nanak visit the area when the region was suffering from drought.

On arrival in Gulbarga, you will check in to your hotel, have dinner and spend the night.

Day 08 Gulbarga – Bijapur ( 170 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Bijapur, an ancient town dotted with mosques, palaces and mausoleums. Here you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit the Gol Gombaz, a tomb that boasts the second largest dome in the world.

Next you will visit the Ibrahim Raza, a beautiful mausoleum that may have inspired the Taj Mahal. You will visit the Malik-e-Maidan ‘meaning the “lord of the battlefield”, the largest medieval cannon in the world with the nozzle shaped like a lion’s head. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 09 Bijapur – Badami ( 150 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head to Badami to explore the Badami Caves. The Badami Cave Temples are brilliant example of Indian rock-cut architecture. Carved out of soft sandstone in the late 6th century, the caves represent different religious sects. You will also visit the Aihole temple complex before heading to Pattadakal.

Next you will visit the town of Pattadakal, famous for its monuments dating back to the 8th century. Built under the patronage of the Chalukyan Dynasty, the monuments display both the north Indian Nagara and southern Dravidian styles of architecture. You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 Badami – Hospet ( 130 Kms - 4 Hrs )

This morning, you will head to Hospet. The region has always been important because of its proximity to the ruins near Hampi. Today Hospet is an important site for iron-ore mining. Here you will check in to your hotel and have the day at leisure. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 11 Hospet – Hampi – Hubli ( 260 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Today, you will have breakfast and visit the ruins at Hampi. This is place of historic and religious significance and the excavations here are almost like a vast open air museum.

Afterwards, you will drive to Hubli, an ancient city now famous for textiles and trade. Here you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 12 Hubli – Goa ( 300 kms - 7 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.

Afterwards, you will explore the Goan churches and cathedrals. Here you will check in to your hotel and have the day at leisure. You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 13 Goa

This morning, you will start with a visit to the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria. You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.

You will have the afternoon to relax. You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 14 Goa - Mumbai

This morning, you will have breakfast and head to the airport to board your flight to Mumbai. Here you will have the opportunity to wash and change. After dinner, you will head to the airport to board your flight home.

Day 14 Goa - Mumbai

This morning, you will have breakfast and board your flight to Mumbai. Here you will have lunch in the city and visit the Gateway of India. This monument, located on the waterfront in South Mumbai, was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The monument was completed in 1924. The monument was meant to be the first sight for all visitors coming to Bombay by boat.

You will also visit Chowpatty beach, a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike. People of all ages come here seeking fun and relaxation. It is dotted with kiosks and stalls of local street food.

The Prince of Wales Museum was founded in 1922 by prominent citizens of Mumbai. Divided primarily into 3 sections – art, archaeology and natural history, it houses more than 50,000 artifacts.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 15 Mumbai – Nashik ( 185 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will leave for Nashik after breakfast. You will have lunch and in the evening visit Ramkund. Ramkund is an important spot for pilgrims as it is believed that Lord Ram bathed here while in exile. It is a lively place with markets nearby.

You will also have the opportunity to visit some temples in Nashik. You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 16 Nashik

After breakfast, you will visit the Sula Vineyards. Rajeev Samant started this young vineyard in the late 90’s, after quitting his job in the Silicon Valley. Since then, Sula wines have grown in popularity and considered to be India’s finest wines. The vineyards now cover approximately 1500 acres of plantations.

You will have the day to tour the vineyards and visit the picturesque Tasting Rooms at the vineyard that has panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The vineyards also have a beautifully landscaped amphitheatre that hosts a variety of events. The vineyard also has a charming restaurant ‘Little Italy’ that’s offers visitors a unique dining experience.

You will have the evening at leisure and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 17 Nashik – Mumbai

After breakfast, you will take the train back to Mumbai. On arrival, you will have lunch and have some time to explore the city on your own. You will have a room to wash, change and rest before heading to the airport to board your flight home.

EXTENSION JAIPUR & AGRA

Day 14 Goa - Jaipur

After breakfast, you will take a flight to Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel.

Day 15 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

Next you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past. You will visit Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework.

After lunch in the city, you will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730. Next you will take a rickshaw ride through the area before returning to your hotel to spend the night. You will return to your hotel to spend the nught.

Day 16 Jaipur - Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture. Here you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box.

You will return to your hotel and have some time to relax before turning in for the night.

Day 17 Agra - Delhi ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will visit the Taj Mahal.

Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

You will also visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for Delhi. After lunch, you will visit After lunch in the city, you will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture. You will also get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

Later, you will head to the airport to board your flight home.
