Day 01 Delhi

On arrival, you Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport, accompany you to your hotel. You will then spend the night at your hotel after check in formalities are completed.

Day 02 Delhi - Dibrugarh

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to board your flight to Dibrugarh. Your Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport and also help you check into your hotel. After lunch, you will visit the Chang Bungalow. This stilted house was built by the British and is in the middle of a functional tea estate. In the evening, you can stroll along the lawns of the bungalow and also enjoy a traditional Assamese dance performance. Later you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Dibrugarh

After breakfast, you will visit the lush and tranquil Ethelwold Tea Estate. Walking around the plantation, you will understand how tea is grown and experience serene beauty of the area. Your hotel will pack and afternoon meal that you can enjoy during your visit.

Later, you will drive to the riverfront and take a boat cruise on the Brahmaputra River allowing you to watch many varieties of migratory birds. In the evening, you will return to your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04 Dibrugarh – Tinsukia - Dibrugarh ( One way: 46 Kms - 1 Hrs )

This morning you will visit Dinjoye Tea Estate. This estate is known for its high quality orthodox tea. Afterwards, you will visit Tai Phakial village. The ancestors of the villagers go back to the Ahom period. The villagers have maintained their age-old customs and this makes for an interesting visit. You will enjoy a packed lunch and later visit the the Bells Temple. This temple has approximately 200,000 bells hung on a banyan tree by devotees praying for their wishes to be fulfilled.

In the evening you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 05 Dibrugarh – Digboi - Dibrugarh ( One way: 80 Kms - 2 Hrs )

This morning you will drive to Digboi, the first oil town of South Asia. Here you will visit the Chota Tingrai Tea Estate and walk around the beautiful tea gardens. You will enjoy a packed lunch and afterwards you will visit the Oil Museum. You will also have the opportunity to visit the 2nd World War Allied Forces Cemetery, where 200 graves are permanently maintained.

In the evening, you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 06 Dibrugarh – Kaziranga ( 220 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Kaziranga National park. En route, you will visit the Tea Research Association, a co-operative society that aims to improve quality and productivity of tea through scientific research.

In the afternoon, you will visit the western range of the Kaziranga National Park. Safaris here will allow you to see the one-horned Indian rhinoceros. The swamps and elephant grass make this the perfect home for the Indian rhino, Indian elephant, Indian bison and swamp deer as well as variety of birds.

You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 07 Kaziranga – Guwahati ( 220 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After an early breakfast you will head for an elephant safari in the central range of the park. This will give you an opportunity to observe the wildlife at close quarters. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel before heading for Guwahati. You will have lunch en route. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. In the evening you will visit the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalashetra. This is an arts and culture complex that displays local arts and crafts as well has theatre workshops, seminars and literature festivals. You will then return to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 08 Guwahati - Delhi

After breakfast, you will visit the Tea Brokerage Firm. You will also you will travel on the Brahmaputra River up to the Umananda Temple.

The temple was originally constructed in 1694 under the patronage of King Gadadhar Singh of the Ahom dynasty. After suffering damage during an earthquake in 1897, a rich local merchant had it refurbished.

After lunch, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 09 Delhi

This morning you will have breakfast and explore the city of Delhi. You will get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. They are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

Next you will visit Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. This simple memorial marks the spot where the Mahatma was cremated in 1948. It consists of a black marble platform with an eternal flame that burns at one end. A visit to Rajghat is an innately moving experience.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

Afterwards, you will have lunch at Karim’s. This is one of the most famous restaurants in the area, and a great place to sample the rich flavors of Mughlai cuisine.

You will then return to your hotel to rest. Later, you will head to the airport to board our flight home.

EXTENSION JAIPUR & AGRA
Day 09 Delhi – Jaipur ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel. After lunch you will explore the city. You will visit visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

You will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730.

Later you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 10 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

You will also stop to take some pictures of the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework.

After lunch in the city, you can take a rickshaw ride through the local bazaars.

In the evening, you will have a demonstration and cooking class. Tonight, you will dine on what you have prepared during your class and other specialties along with your hosts.

Afterwards, you will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 Jaipur- Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. En route you will visit Fatehpur Sikri. Built by the emperor Akbar about 35 kms from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is home to many historical buildings. Akbar wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his headquarters, however, he had to abandon it due to shortage of water. Today, Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site. You will have lunch here.

On arrival in Agra, you will check in to your hotel.

You will then visit Chaat wali gali, famous for its spicy street food. You will also visit a famous Petha shop. Petha is a renowned local sweet made from ash gourd. You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day12 Agra-Delhi ( 204 Kms - 4 hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and leave to visit the famouse Taj Mahal. Afterwards, you will see the Red Fort. The Red Fort, also called the Agra Fort, was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. Later Shah Jahan used it as a palace. The beautiful yet forbidding structure is a beautiful example of North Indian Mughal architecture. After lunch, you will head towards Delhi. You will have the opportunity to wash and change before heading to the airport to board your flight home.

EXTENSION TO JHANSI, KHAJURAHO & VARANASI
Day12 Agra- Jhansi-Orcha ( 19 Kms /30 Mins )

After an early breakfast, you will take the train to Jhansi. Here you will visit the Jhansi fort. Built in the 17th century, the fort played an important role in India’s freedom movement. After lunch in the city, you will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will visit the Orcha Temple and Orcha Palace. The Orcha fort complex actually houses three palaces. One of them is called Jehangir Palace in honour of the Emperor Jehangir. The friendship between the Orccha ruler Vir Singh and Jehangir went back a long way before either of them became rulers. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 13 Orcha – Khajuraho ( 170 Km /5 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Khajuraho. The town of Khajuraho is famous for the legendary Khajuraho temples, which belong to both the Hindu and Jain faiths. The temples were built between the 9th and the 12th century. Though only 20 of the original 85 temples survive, the facades of these temples are a sight to behold. They are replete with erotic sculptures and depictions of dance, music and other creative arts.

On arrival you will check into your hotel and have lunch. In the evening you will leave to visit the Eastern temples of Khajuraho, situated close to the village. Few of the Jain temples in the area are still in use. The temples have fine sculptures without sensuous themes. One of the oldest temples in Khajuraho, which is mostly in ruins is also situated here. Afterwards, you will visit the Western Temples of Khajuraho. The Western group of temples is entirely Hindu and contains some of the most erotic sculptures found in a place of worship. These temples are considered to be the most evolved temple architecture and represent the Chandela dynasty at its peak.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 14 Khajuraho - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will take a boat ride on the River Ganges. Here every evening, a prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. The sunset ceremony is truly a sight to behold!

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 15 Varanasi - Delhi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will return to your hotel and have breakfast. In the afternoon you will head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts. You will also visit the Sarnath Museum.

You will have lunch and in the evening you will board your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you will check into your hotel and spend the night.

Day 16 Delhi

Day 09 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have some free time to relax. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 10 & Day 11 Goa

For the next two days you will have some time to relax and explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 12 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you will check into your hotel. Then you will visit Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers. You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 09 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 10 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

After lunch, you can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel.

EXTENSION ANANDA
Day 09 Delhi - Haridwar or Dheradun - Ananda

Today you will either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

After checking in, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 10 & 11 Ananda

For the next two days you can try the various wellness regimes on offer at the hotel. Traditional yoga, and Ayurveda can be combined with the finest international wellness experiences to rejuvenate you mind, body and spirit.

Day 12 Ananda - Haridwar or Dehradun

After breakfast, you will either board the train to Delhi from Haridwar or leave for Dehradun to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on arrival, who will help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 13 Delhi

After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore Old Delhi. First you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

Next you will visit the Red Fort. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.

After lunch in the city, you will visit India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate.

After lunch, you will leave to visit the Lotus Temple. This temple is the mother temple of the Baha’I faith in the Indian subcontinent. Built in 1986, it is open to people from all faiths. The structure looks like a blossoming lotus flower.

Next you will visit the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, the most prominent Sikh Temple in Delhi. It has a brilliant golden dome that makes the structure instantly recognizable. Built in 1783, the temple attracts millions of visitors annually.

You will then return to your hotel. After dinner, you Kamalan representative will help you board your flight home.

EXTENSION AMRITSAR
Day 09 Delhi - Amritsar

After breakfast, you will head to the station to board your train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch before exploring the city.

You will start with a visit to the Golden Temple. This is the most significant temple for the Sikh community. The ‘langar’ or community kitchen serves free meals all year round to roughly 40,000 visitors a day. It is truly a remarkable experience to visit this place of worship.

After this, you will visit the Jallianwala Bagh. This small park was the site of a massacre in 1919 spearheaded by a British general. This event caused general unrest and agitations and was one of the precursors to India’s struggle for freedom.

Next you will visit the Durgiana temple. Dedicated to the Goddess Durga, this temple is based on the architecture of the Golden Temple. You will then visit Rambagh, the palace and gardens of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The summer palace has now been converted into a museum holding weapons and portraits.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 10 Amritsar - Delhi

This morning you will begin with an early morning visit to the Golden Temple. You will then return to your hotel for breakfast. Afterwards you will head to the station to board the train to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative who will help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.
