Day 01 Mumbai

On arrival, your Kamalan representative will pick you up, accompany you to your hotel and help you check in. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 02 Mumbai

This morning, you will visit the Elephanta Caves. This is a complex of Hindu caves with beautiful high reliefs and is a world heritage site. After lunch, you will visit the Prince of Wales Museum, which was founded in 1922 by prominent citizens of Mumbai. Divided primarily into 3 sections – art, archaeology and natural history, it houses more than 50,000 artifacts.

You will also explore South Mumbai and spend some time at the Gateway of India. This monument, located on the waterfront in South Mumbai, was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The monument was completed in 1924. The monument was meant to be the first sight for all visitors coming to Bombay by boat.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 03 Mumbai - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to board your flight to Goa. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.

Afterwards, you will visit the Church of St Francis of Assisi. This church, originally built around 1551, by a group of Franciscan friars, was later demolished. The present church was built in 1661. After the Portuguese closed the convent in 1835, it fell into a state of disrepair. In 1964, the Archaeological Survey of India resurrected the church, and it now also houses a museum.

Next you will visit the Cathedral of Bom Jesus. This Basilica has long attracted Catholics from all over the world as it houses the mortal remains of St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa. His body is embalmed in glass coffin inside a silver coffin.

After visiting the churches, you will walk through the old Portuguese colonies. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 04 to Day 07 Goa

For the next few days, you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 08 Goa - Mumbai

After breakfast, you will leave for the airport to catch your flight to Mumbai. On arrival, you will have lunch and have some time to spend around the Gateway of India. You will have a room to wash and change before heading to the airport to board your flight home.

EXTENSION AJANTA & ELLORA
Day 09 Mumbai - Aurangabad

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to board your flight to Aurungabad. On arrival, you will check in and have lunch. Then you will leave to visit the famous Ellora caves, approximately 30kms away from the city.

Excavations at the Ellora caves have revealed Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples and monasteries. The caves at Ellora have been designated a World Heritage site and the finest examples of Indian rock cut architecture.

From here you will visit the Bibi ka Maqbara. This mausoleum was constructed in the 17th century under the patronage of Prince Azam Shah, the son of Emperor Aurungzeb as a tribute to his mother. Since this monument has long been compared to the Taj Mahal, its beauty has often been overlooked.

Day 10 Aurangabad - Ajanta - Aurangabad

After breakfast, you will visit the Ajanta caves, where you will also enjoy lunch. Another World Heritage Site, these ancient caves contain spectacular Buddhist paintings and sculptures dating back to the 2nd century BCE.

On the way back to Aurungabad, you will also have the opportunity to visit the holy shrine of the Deccan Muslims, where the Mughal Emperor Aurungzeb is believed to be buried.

You will then return to your hotel, where you will spend the night.

Day 11 Aurrangabad - Mumbai

After breakfast, you will head back to the airport and board your flight to Mumbai.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Later, you will have dinner and head to the airport. Your Kamalan representative will help you board your flight back home.

EXTENTION NASHIK
Day 09 Bombay - Nashik ( 210 km - 5 Hrs )

This morning, you will leave for Nashik after breakfast. Once you check in to your hotel, you will have lunch at the Sula Vineyard.

Rajeev Samant started this young vineyard in the late 90’s, after quitting his job in the Silicon Valley. Since then, Sula wines have grown in popularity and considered to be India’s finest wines. The vineyards now cover approximately 1500 acres of plantations.

After exploring the vineyards in the afternoon, you will visit the city if Pune, before returning to spend the night at beautiful rooms at the Sula Vineyards.

Day 11: Nashik

ou will spend the whole day relaxing at the beautiful Sula Vineyards.

Day 12: Nashik - Mumbai ( 210 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head back to Mumbai. Here you will have the opportunity to wash and change before dinner. Afterwards, your Kamalan representative will help you board your flight home.

EXTENSION JAIPUR - AGRA
Day 8 Goa - Jaipur

After breakfast, you will take a flight to Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and spend the night here.

Day 9 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

You will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730. Next you will take a rickshaw ride through the area and soak up the local flavors.

After lunch in the city, and afterwards you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

You will also visit Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework.

In the evening, you will have some time to explore the local bazaar before returning to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 Jaipur - Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch in the city.

Later you will visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box. You will also have time to visit the local bazaars. You will have the evening at leisure, and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 11 Agra - Delhi ( 204 Kms - 4-5 Hrs )

Early this morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal. Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel. You will also visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.

You will return to your hotel to have breakfast. Afterwards you will leave for Delhi. You will have enrout lunch and relax at the hotel after check in.

Day 12 Delhi

After breakfast you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

Next you will visit the Red Fort from outside. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.

After lunch in the city, you will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

You will then have dinner before you head to the airport to board the flight home.
