Day 01 Cochin
On arrival you will be met by a representative of Kamalan Travels at the airport who will accompany you to the hotel and will assist with check-in formalities. You will spend the night at your hotel.
Day 02 Cochin – Athirapalli ( 75 Kms - 2 Hrs 30 )
After breakfast, you will leave for Athirapalli. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.
Afterwards, you will take a walk along the picturesque Athirapalli falls. The waterfallas are the highest in the state and are calm, serene and idyllic location for picnics.
Day 03 Athirapalli – Munnar ( 130 kms - 4 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will head to Munnar. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will visit tea gardens, which are breathtakingly beautiful with vast hillocks carpeted with tea plants. Afterwards, you will visit the renowned local cardamom plantations. Later, you will return to your hotel for dinner and spend the night.
Day 04 Munnar - Periyar (170 Kms - 4-5 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will head to Periyar. Famous for its tiger reserve and national park, Periyar is surrounded by spice plantations, tea gardens and rubber plantations.
You will stop to explore a tea garden and learn about how tea is grown and processed. On arrival in Periyar, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will have some free time to enjoy an elephant ride or even and Ayurvedic massage. You will spend the night at your hotel.
Day 05 Periyar
After breakfast, you will visit the Periyar wildlife sanctuary and explore the flora and fauna of the region. You will return to your hotel for lunch. Afterwards, you will visit the spice plantation at Periyar. The plantations are captivating, with each section cultivating different spices. You will also have the opportunity to witness Kalaripayttu, which is perhaps one of the oldest forms of martial arts in existence and includes grappling, wrestling, kicks and weaponry. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 06 Periyar – Kottayam ( 100 Kms - 3 Hrs )
This morning, you will leave for Kottayam after breakfast. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will visit a renowned rubber plantation in the area. You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 07 Kottayam
After breakfast, you will have the day at leisure to explore the fantastic natural beauty of the region and enjoy the fantastic flora and fauna. You will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 08 Kottayam – Allepey ( House Boat )
This morning, you will have breakfast and leave for Alleppey to board the houseboat. You will enjoy a cruise on the backwaters and have your meals and spend the night on board.
Day 09 House Boat – Kumarakom
After breakfast on board, you will disembark at Kumarakom. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. You will have the rest of the day to enjoy the activities at the resort such as yoga and massage therapy. You will have dinner and spend the night here.
Day 10 Kumarakom
This morning, you will have the entire to spend relaxing at the resort enjoying the various activities on offer. You will also have time to read and take some photographs of the beautiful landscapes. You will have dinner and spend the night here.
Day 11 Kumarakom – Cochin ( 55 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 )
After breakfast, you will head to Cochin and explore the city. You will visit Fort Cochin with its wealth of colonial architecture. The extraordinary Chinese fishing nets are a sight to behold. These unusual, elegantly balanced, shore operated fishnets are 10m high and rumored to be of Chinese origin, possibly introduced by Zhang He.
The Jewish synagogue in Cochin was built in 1568 and is of great historical importance. No visit to Cochin is complete without viewing its attractive collections.
You will also visit the Mattancherry or Dutch Palace. It was constructed by the Portuguese and gifted to the Raja of Kochi in 1555. It was created in the traditional style of architecture with a courtyard in the centre. It houses some of the finest murals of Hindu temple art.
In the evening, you will witness a traditional Kathakali dance, which involves the stunning use of masks, and make up. You will return to your hotel, wash & change before reaching the airport.
EXTENSION LAKSHDWEEP
Day 12 Cochin- Agatti ~ Bangaram
After breakfast, you will be taken to Cochin airport to catch a connecting flight to Agatti. Here, a representative from the Bangaram Island will help you board your motorboat that will take you to the island. Between July and September, you can reach the island by helicopter as well.
Day 13 to Day 15 Bangaram Island
You can spend the next couple of days exploring the magnificent Bangaram Island, which has pristine silver sand beaches, breathtaking blue lagoons, coral reefs, and coconut palms. You can also engage in a variety of water sports such as snorkeling and scuba diving. Bangaram Island is also an ideal place to enjoy deep sea fishing.
Day 16 Bangaram ~ Agatti - Cochin
Post breakfast you will head back to Agatti by boat to catch your connecting flight to Cochin. After checking into the hotel Cochin you may have lunch. Then you can explore the local bazaar and a walk through the Jewish quarter is a wonderful experience.
You will then return to your hotel for dinner. You can wash and change to prepare for your flight home. Your Kamalan representative will be there to assist you to board you flight.
EXTENSION MARARIKULAM
DAY 12 Cochin – Mararikulam ( 65 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 )
This morning, you will have breakfast and head to Marari. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. You will have the rest of the day to explore activities on offer at the hotel such as massage therapies and yoga. You will have dinner and spend the night here.
DAY 13 Marari
After breakfast, you will have the day at leisure at the beach. Marari offers a glimpse into traditional fishing villages with vast expanses of pristine beaches. You will return to your hotel for dinner and spend the night.
DAY 14 Marari – Cochin 65 Kms (01 Hrs 30 Min.)
After breakfast at the hotel, you have the morning to relax. You will have lunch at your hotel. In the evening, you will head to Cochin to catch your return flight
