Day 01 Delhi

On arrival, you Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport, accompany you to your hotel. You will then spend the night at your hotel after check-in formalities are completed.

Day 02 Delhi - Kathgodam ( Overnight on board)

After breakfast, you will leave to explore the city of Delhi.

First you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

You will also get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

Next you will visit to the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

At the end of the day you will take the overnight train to Kathgodam.

Day 03 Kathgodam - Almora

On arrival in Kathgodam you will take the route to Almora. The picturesque town of Almora has panoramic views of the Himalayas. It has abundance of cultural heritage, handicrafts, and wildlife. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have breakfast.

Afterwards, you will take a walk to the waterfall and Lakhudiar. Your walk will take you towards the ravines along the banks of the Balta River, and towards the Bintola village. This path will take you through lovely gorges and waterfalls. You will then walk up to the Dhaulikhan hilltop. The trail will then lead you towards the villages of Pali and Reeta. Here you will discover the famous Kali temple complex.

You will also explore the Vishnu temple believed to date back to the 9th century. You will enjoy a packed a lunch and follow the irrigation channels upwards through the beautiful Kaphal trees towards Lakhudiar, famous for its prehistoric rock art.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 04 Almora - 360 Leti Hotel ( 150 Kms - 4 Hrs 30 )

After breakfast, you will head to the 360 Leti Hotel. This breathtakingly beautiful property allows panoramic views of the mountains. The peaceful and serene ambience allows you to truly appreciate the sound of the wind in the trees.

On arrival, you check into the hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 05 360 Leti Hotel

After breakfast, you will enjoy a walk from your hotel. You may take the Shiva Shrine walk, which is approximately a 3 hour round trip, bring your to a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

From the shrine you will enjoy magnificent views of the Ramganga Valley, Heeramani Glacier and Nanda Kot. The path you will take is relatively level and takes you through oak forests, passing streams and even a traditional flourmill. Here you will also get an insight of the tough living conditions in the mountains as you watch the locals carrying supplies to the farthest villages. You will enjoy a picnic here before heading back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 06 360 Leti Hotel

This morning after breakfast you will take another walk. This is one is the Khadaa Dhunga Walk, that literally means, “standing rock”. This is a strenuous walk and is a five and a half hour round trip. From the hotel, you will take a steep path until you reach a flat piece of pastureland. Here you get spectacular views of the mountain peaks, including Nanda Devi, the highest peak in India Since this is challenging walk, many people turn back before this point, and though they see many other peaks, they miss out on Nanda Devi. You may choose to do this walk early in the morning to appreciate the sunrise.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 07 360 Leti Hotel – Almora ( 150 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Almora. After lunch in the city, you will have some free time to relax and will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 08 Almora – Nainital ( 65 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 )

After breakfast, you will head to Nainital. Nestled in Kumaon foothills, Nainital is sometime called the ‘lake district’ of India. A place of scenic natural splendor, Nainital is surrounded by stunning mountain views.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will explore the scenic beauty of the area. You will also walk along main street called Mall Road. Later you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naini.

The Naini Lake is a natural fresh water lake and the nucleus of Nainital. The area is captivating for tourists, with options for yachting and boating available to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 09 Nainital – Ananda 300 Kms ( 7 Hrs)

After breakfast, you will leave for Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

Day 10 & 11 Ananda

You will spend the next two days trying the various wellness regimes on offer at the hotel. Traditional yoga, and Ayurveda can be combined with the finest international wellness experiences to rejuvenate you mind, body and spirit.

Day 12 Ananda - Haridwar - Delhi Or Ananda - Dehradun - Delhi

After breakfast, you will either board the train to Delhi from Haridwar or leave for Dehradun to catch your flight back to Delhi. After checking into your hotel, you will have some free time before you turn in for the night.

Day 13 Delhi

After breakfast, you will have free time to explore the city on your own. Later you will return to your hotel. Your Kamalan representative will accompany you to the airport to help you check in so you can board your flight home.

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 13 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 14 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla. You can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 15 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will catch a flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will check into your hotel. You will have some free time to relax. After dinner your Kamalan representative will accompany you to the airport to help you check in so you can board your flight home.

EXTENSION GOA
Day 13 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to to Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. Afterwards you will head to explore the Goan churches and cathedrals. You will start with a visit to the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.

Next you visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

St. Catherine’s Church stands out as a pale yellow structure with distinctly Renaissance features. The Archaeological Survey of India now protects the church.

You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.

The Miramar beach is a beautiful golden beach with soft sand, and dotted with palm trees. With its captivating views, it is an ideal location for lovely long walks along the shore.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 14 and Day 15 Goa

For the next two days you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 16 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. On arrival, you will have free time to discover the city by yourself

You will have dinner in the city before heading to the airport to catch your flight home.

EXTENSION VARANASI
Day 13 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

In the evening, you will take a boat ride on the River Ganges. Here every evening, a prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. The sunset ceremony is truly a sight to behold!

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 14 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will return to your hotel and have breakfast. In the afternoon you will head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts. You will also visit the Sarnath Museum.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 15 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast, you will have some free time to explore the city on your own before heading to the airport for your flight to Delhi.

On arrival, you will have some time at leisure before dinner. Afterwards you will head to the airport. A Kamalan representative will help you check in and board your flight
