Day 01 Delhi

Upon your arrival in Delhi, you will be met by your Kamalan representative who will accompany you, and help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 02 Delhi - Corbett ( 296 Kms - 6 Hrs 30 )

After breakfast, you will leave for Jim Corbett National Park. This is one of the first wildlife reserves of India established in 1936 in the Himalayan foothills. With a variety of terrains and habitats, Corbett National Park is home to a variety of animal and plant species. The most famous residents of the Park are the Royal Bengal tiger and the Asiatic elephant.

After you have checked in to your hotel, you will get the opportunity to take a jeep or canter safari through the Corbett National Park. If your lucky, you will get the chance to spot big cats such as leopards and tigers, monkeys and langurs, sloth bears and many other countless species.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Corbett

This morning, you will continue your safari in the Corbett National Park. You may appreciate the numerous varieties of birds including pelicans, herons and storks.

After breakfast at the hotel you will have to the chance to rest. In the evening, you will continue your safari and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. At the Corbett National Park, the breathtaking terrain covers both mountainous regions and those of the plains.

You will return to the hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04 Corbett – Delhi ( 296 Kms - 6 Hrs 30 )

After breakfast, you will leave for Delhi. The city of Delhi is located on the banks of the river Yamuna. This fascinating city has been in existence since the 6th century BCE. Since Mughal times through to most of the British Raj, the city has been the political capital of the country. Today it continues to be the capital of the nation as a bustling metropolitan city that proudly carries images of its glorious past.

After checking into your hotel, you will visit Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture in India.

You will have the evening free, after which you will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 05 Delhi - Ranthambore

After breakfast, you will take a train to Ranthambore National Park. One of the largest national parks in the country, it is most famous for its tigers. The dry deciduous forests make tiger spotting easy. It also houses other big cats, as well wild boar, hyena and many other animals. Ranthambore is also home to one of the largest banyan trees in India.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 06 Ranthambore

You will begin the day with a jeep safari in Ranthambore National Park, allowing you to observe the flora and fauna of the region. The area is dream come true for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. Apart from the natural beauty of the region, the park is dotted with historical monuments – including a fort, ruined pavilions, wells, and other remnants of the past.

You will then return to your hotel for breakfast and have some time to relax.

In the evening you will continue your jeep safari through Ranthambore and its amazing wildlife. You will then return to your hotel for dinner and spend the night.

Day 07 Ranthambore - Bharatpur ( 250 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you leave for Bharatpur. On your arrival, you will check in to your hotel.

In the evening you will visit the Bharatpur bird sanctuary. This sanctuary is unique as it was actually man-made. The Maharaja of Bharatpur created an artificial lake and dam in the area to store the water that was brought in by the annual floods. This created a habitat for the flora and fauna of the region. The highlight of the area is the thousands of migratory birds that come from as far away as Siberia, to spend the winters.

You return to spend the night at your hotel.

Day 08 Bharatpur – FatehpurSikri - Agra ( 55 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 Mins )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture.

En route to Agra, you will visit Fatehpur Sikri. Built by the emperor Akbar about 35 kms from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is home to many historical buildings. Akbar wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his headquarters, however, he had to abandon it due to shortage of water. Today, Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site.

After checking into your hotel, you will visit the Red Fort in the evening. The Red Fort, also called the Agra Fort, was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. Later Shah Jahan used it as a palace. The beautiful yet forbidding structure is a beautiful example of North Indian Mughal architecture.

After your visit to the Ref Fort, you will get the chance to stroll through a local bazaar before returning to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 09 Agra – Delhi ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Early this morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal. Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of labourers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will return to Delhi. Once you have checked into your hotel in Delhi, you will have a chance to explore the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

Next you will visit Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. This simple memorial marks the spot where the Mahatma was cremated in 1948. It consists of a black marble platform with an eternal flame that burns at one end. A visit to Rajghat is an innately moving experience.

Next you will visit India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

You will then return to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 Delhi

After breakfast, you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

Next you will visit the Red Fort. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.

You may also choose to experience a pigeon flying session here in the early morning.

You will have lunch and dinner in the city before heading for the airport to catch your flight back home.

EXTENSION SHIMLA

Day 10 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 11 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla. You can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will catch a flight back to Delhi. After checking into your hotel, you will set out to explore Delhi. You will start with a visit to the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

After lunch, you will have some free time to explore the city on your own. Then you will have dinner before leaving for the airport to catch the flight home.

EXTENSION GOA

Day 10 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and you will head to explore the Goan churches and cathedrals. You will start with a visit to the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.

Next you visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

St. Catherine’s Church stands out as a pale yellow structure with distinctly Renaissance features. The Archaeological Survey of India now protects the church.

You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.

The Miramar beach is a beautiful golden beach with soft sand, and dotted with palm trees. With its captivating views, it is an ideal location for lovely long walks along the shore.

Exploring the Dona Paula fishing village was named after Dona Paula de Menezes, the wife o a nobleman who died as a young woman. These days it famous for water sports as much as being a lover’s paradise.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 & 12 Goa

Over the next two you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 14 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi.

Day 10 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

In the evening, you will witness the Aarti ceremony at the ghats. Every evening, this prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. Ritual lamps are lit, signifying the light of wisdom, offering pilgrims the chance to purify themselves. This deeply touching experience is truly a sight to behold.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will also discover the narrow lanes of Varanasi. These old serpentine lines will allow you to experience the life of the local people, which is almost reminiscent of a bygone era.

After lunch in the city, you head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts.

You will then return to the hotel to relax and spend the night.

Day 12 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast at the hotel, you relax or explore the city on your own. You will then head to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 13 Delhi

Day 10 Delhi - Haridwar - Ananda OR Delhi - Dehradun – Ananda

Today you will either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

After checking in, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 11 & 12 Ananda

INSERTION JAIPUR

Day 07 Ranthambore - Jaipur ( 185 Kms - 5 Hrs 30 )

After breakfast, you will leave for Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture.

Once you have checked into your hotel, you will leave to visit the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework. You will then visit the local bazaars of the area before heading back to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 08 Jaipur - Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

You will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730.

After lunch in the city, you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja.

Then you will leave for Agra. After checking into your hotel, you will visit the Red Fort in the evening. The Red Fort, also called the Agra Fort, was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. Later Shah Jahan used it as a palace. The beautiful yet forbidding structure is a beautiful example of North Indian Mughal architecture.

After your visit to the Ref Fort, you will get the chance to stroll through a local bazaar before returning to your hotel to spend the night.
