Day 01 Mumbai

Upon your arrival, you will be met by your Kamalan representative who will accompany you, and help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 02 Mumbai - Nagpur – Pench ( Flight + 93 Kms - 2 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will fly to Nagpur. Nagpur is located in centre of India. In fact, the ‘zero milestone’ of India is located here. You will then head towards Pench National Park. Named after the river Pench that flows through the sanctuary, the Pench National Park is located in the midst of a teak forest. On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch.

In the evening you will take a jeep safari in the park. This safari will allow you to see an abundance of wildlife including deer, leapords, gaur, sambhars, macaque and langurs, as well as the occasional tiger.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Pench - Kanha ( 210 Kms - 4 - 5 Hrs )

This morning you will continue your jeep safari through Pench National Park. Apart from the many mammals, you will also get the chance to see magnificent birds such as the bulbul, wagtails, mynahs and kingfishers.

You will then return to the hotel for breakfast. Next you will head to Kanha National Park. This region was perhaps the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book. On your arrival, you will check into your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04 Kanha

This morning you will have the opportunity to take a jeep safari through Kanha National Park. Here, beautiful forests are interspersed with meadows and lakes. The natural splendor of the area is heightened by stringent protection of species such as the hardground swamp deer and tigers.

You will return to your hotel for breakfast and to relax for a while. In the evening you will continue your jeep safari and possibly get to see the spectacular sunset view.

You will then return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 05 Kanha – Bandhavgarh ( 275 Kms - 6 - 7 Hrs )

This morning, you will leave for Bandhavgarh National Park after breakfast. The Bandhavgarh national park has a great deal of biodiversity with a high density of India’s tiger population. It is believed that Bandhavgarh was once home to a population of white tigers, though none have been sighted in the last 50 years.

On your arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. In the evening, you will leave for a jeep safari to explore the park. After this, you will return to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 06 Bandhavgarh

Early this morning, you will begin your jeep safari allowing you to enjoy the spectacular flora and fauna in Bandhavgarh. One of the highlights of this safari is tracking tigers on elephant back. You will surely carry memories of this experience for many years to come!

You will return to your hotel for breakfast and have some free time to relax. In the evening, you will continue your explorations of the region. You will then return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 07 Bandhvgarh - Jabalpur ( 200 Kms - 4 Hrs )

After an early morning breakfast, you will leave for Jabalpur. This city is located on the banks of the river Narmada and is surrounded by rocky hillocks. This ancient city has given India some of the finest philosophers, artists and musicians.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch.

After this you will visit the Rani Durgavati Memorial and Museum. The museum is dedicated to a famous queen and contains many precious sculptures and artifacts dating back to the 10th century. There is also a special section dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

Next you will take a boat ride on the River Narmada. Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed into the Narmada from the Tilwara ghat alongside the river. You will also get a chance to see the Marble Rocks along the banks of the river. These rocks tower to a height of 100 feet and are covered with volcanic seams of green and black. One of the most breathtaking sights is when the sunshine or moonlight hits the white surface of the marble rocks – a definite must see!

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 08 Jabalpur – Khajuraho ( 225 - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast you will leave for Khajuraho. The town of Khajuraho is famous for the legendary Khajuraho temples, which belong to both the Hindu and Jain faiths. Built in the time of the Chandela Dynasty, the temples were built between the 9th and the 12th century. Though only 20 of the original 85 temples survive, the facades of these temples are a sight to behold. They are replete with erotic sculptures and depictions of dance, music and other creative arts.

On arrival you will check into your hotel and have lunch. In the evening you will leave to visit the Eastern temples of Khajuraho. The Eastern temple sof Khajuraho are situated close to the village. Few of the Jain temples in the area are still in use. The temples have fine sculptures without sensuous themes. One of the oldest temples in Khajuraho, which is mostly in ruins is also situated here.

After your visit you will return to the hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 09 Khajuraho – Orcha

This morning, after breakfast, you will visit the Western Temples of Khajuraho. The Western group of temples is entirely Hindu and contain some of the most erotic sculptures found in a place of worship. These temples are considered to be the most evolved temple architecture and represent the Chandela dynasty at its peak.

After this you will head to Orcha. Orcha is situated on the banks of the Betwa River. In a sense, it is an ancient place, full of temples and palaces, which allow visitors to capture a reflection of ancient kings and dynasties.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. Then you will visit the Orcha Palace. The Orcha fort complex actually houses three palaces. One of them is called Jehangir Palace in honour of the Emperor Jehangir. The friendship between the Orccha ruler Vir Singh and Jehangir went back a long way before either of them became rulers.

In the evening, you will witness the Aarti ceremony at the Raja Ram Temple. Legend has it that the deity of Lord Ram was brought back from Ayodha to be installed in the Chaturbhuj temple. However, when the Chaturbhuj temple was complete, the idol proved immovable! The deity had made an edit that the idol would remain in the first spot it was laid down!

After this, you will return to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 Orcha - Agra ( 235 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture.

On arrival you will check into your hotel. You will have the evening at leisure before turning in for the night.

Day 11 Agra - Jaipur ( 245 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Early this morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal. Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

Next you will visit the Red Fort, also called the Agra Fort. It was commissioned in 1565 by Emperor Akbar and it was later used by Shah Jahan as a palace. The beautiful yet forbidding structure is a beautiful example of North Indian Mughal architecture.

You will then have breakfat and head to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, where you check into your hotel on arrival.

After lunch, you will visit the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework. You will then visit the local bazaars of the area. You have the evening free to continue to explore Jaipur before heading back to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Jaipur

This morning you will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

Next you get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730. After lunch you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

Afterwards, you will return to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 13 Jaipur – Delhi ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Delhi. The city of Delhi is located on the banks of the river Yamuna. This fascinating city has been in existence since the 6th century BCE. Since Mughal times through to most of the British Raj, the city has been the political capital of the country. Today it continues to be the capital of the nation as a bustling metropolitan city that proudly carries images of its glorious past.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. You can visit the local bazaars and appreciate the local flavors. You will then return to the hotel where you will have some free time to relax before spending the night.

Day 14 Delhi

This morning, after breakfast, you will visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

You will then take a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is the busiest market in Old Delhi. Noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian, it is famous for its several restaurants and confectioners. Needless to say, this is a rickshaw ride you will never forget!

Next you will visit the Red Fort. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.

After lunch in the city, you will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

You will also get a chance to see the government buildings in Delhi. The government buildings in Delhi are an ode to British Colonial architecture, spearheaded by the architect Edward Lutyens.

You will also explore India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

You will then head to the airport. A Kamalan representative will help you check in and board your flight home.

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 15 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 16 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla. You can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 17 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will catch a flight back to Delhi. Once you have checked into your hotel, you will visit the Jama Masjid. Day 14 Delhi - Haridwar - Ananda OR Delhi - Dehradun ) – Ananda

Today you will either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

After checking in, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 15 and Day 16 Ananda

You will spend the next two days trying the various wellness regimes on offer at the hotel. Traditional yoga, and Ayurveda can be combined with the finest international wellness experiences to rejuvenate you mind, body and spirit.

Day 17 Ananda - Haridwar - Delhi (By Train) OR Ananda - Dehradun - Delhi By Flight

After breakfast, you will either board the train to Delhi from Haridwar or leave for Dehradun to catch your flight back to Delhi. After checking into your hotel, you will have some free time before you turn in for the night.

EXTENSION CORBETT
Day 15 Delhi - Corbett ( 296 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Jim Corbett National Park. This is one of the first wildlife reserves of India established in 1936 in the Himalayan foothills. With a variety of terrains and habitats, Corbett National Park is home to a variety of animal and plant species. The most famous residents of the Park are the Royal Bengal tiger and the Asiatic elephant.

After you have checked in to your hotel, you will get the opportunity to take a jeep or canter safari through the Corbett National Park. If your lucky, you will get the chance to spot big cats such as leopards and tigers, monkeys and langurs, sloth bears and many other countless species.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 16 Corbett

This morning, you will continue your safari in the Corbett National Park. You may appreciate the numerous varieties of birds including pelicans, herons and storks.

After breakfast at the hotel you will have to the chance to rest. In the evening, you will continue your safari and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. At the Corbett National Park, the breathtaking terrain covers both mountainous regions and those of the plains.

You will return to the hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 17 Corbett – Delhi ( 296 Kms - 6 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Delhi. After checking into your hotel, you will have lunch. You then have the evening free. You will have dinner before heading to the airport to board your flight home.

EXTENSION GOA
Day 15 Delhi/Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa. Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. You will then visit the Se Cathedral. Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.

Next you visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

You will also see the Viceroy’s Arch. The arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De Gama and stands on the jetty of Old Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to pass through this arch before taking office.

Day 16 & 17 Goa

Over the next two you can explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all.

Day 18 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will have the opportunity to wash and change before you head to the airport to board your flight home.

EXTENSION VARANASI
Day 15 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will witness the Aarti ceremony at the ghats. Every evening, this prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. Ritual lamps are lit, signifying the light of wisdom, offering pilgrims the chance to purify themselves. This deeply touching experience is truly a sight to behold.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 16 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will also discover the narrow lanes of Varanasi. These old serpentine lines will allow you to experience the life of the local people, which is almost reminiscent of a bygone era.

After lunch in the city, you head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts.

You will then return to the hotel to relax and spend the night.

Day 17 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast at the hotel, you relax or explore the city on your own. You will then head to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will check into your hotel where you will spend the night.
