Day 01 Bangalore
On arrival you will be met by a representative of Kamalan Travels at the airport who will accompany you to the hotel and will assist with check-in formalities. You will receive a traditional Indian welcome with garlands and enjoy a bottle of Indian wine before you turn in for the night.
Day 02 Bangalore – Mysore ( 150 Kms - 3 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Mysore. En route, you will visit Srirangapatnam, a place of great religious and historical significance. In fact, it is the site of the infamous battle between Tipu Sultan and the British army. Tipu died in battle within the fort of Srirangaptnam and the place where he fell has been turned into a memorial.
On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you will visit the Chamundi Hills. The Chamundi Hills offer a panoramic view of the region and a long stairway of 1511 steps leads to the top of the hill. Though it is an effort to climb to the top, the view is most definitely worth it!
After that you will visit the Mysore Palace. This spectacular building was commissioned in 1897 but was only complete in 1912. Every year it plays host to the annual Maysore Dasara festival.
In the evening, you will walk around the local vegetable market and soak up the local flavors. You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 03 Mysore – Coorg ( 125 Kms - 3 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Coorg. On arrival, you will check in to the hotel and have lunch.
In the evening, you will take a walk through the lush forests nearby. You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 04 Coorg
After breakfast, you will visit the Dubare elephant camp. Here you will observe elephants and their daily activities. You can also take a ride on one of the elephants here!
Afterwards, you will have lunch with a Kodava family trying out authentic Kodava cuisine. The Kodavas are an ethnic group from the state of Karnataka. Their staple food consists of boiled rice, pork, meat, with coconut and rice noodles.
You will then return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure to relax before you turn in for the night.
Day 05 Coorg – Tellicherry ( 140 Kms - 4 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Tellicherry. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.
Afterwards, you will visit Mahe town. This quaint town was a French colony until the 50’s and reflects both Indian and French heritage. You will also visit a local spice market. Since the area is renowned for its spice plantations, a visit to the spice market should not be missed!
You will then return to your hotel, enjoy your dinner and a bottle of wine before turning in for the night.
Day 06 Tellicherry
Early this morning, you will visit a local fish market, an interesting an unusual experience. You will return to your hotel for breakfast. Afterwards, you will visit a local weaving factory. The area is famous for its handlooms and weaving industries.
In the evening, you will witness the Theyyam dance, a Hindu ritual of worship. It is considered a great privilege to perform this ritual and the performers hold an esteemed position in the area.
You will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 07 Tellicherry – Wayanad ( 130 Kms - 3 Hrs 30 )
After breakfast, you will leave for Wayand. Here, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.
Afterwards, you will visit Kuruva Island in the Kabani River, a fantastic picnic spot. Later you will take a walk in the nearby forests that are home to various species of flaura and fauna.
Later you will return to your hotel, have dinner and spend the night.
Day 08 Wayanad
Early this morning you will head to the Muthanga forest in a jeep to catch a glimpse of the wildlife. The Muthunga Wildlife sanctuary is home to a variety of species including elephants, sloth bears, jungle cats, bison and many more.
You will then head back to the hotel for breakfast.
After that you will head to the Eddkal caves. The caves are situated on an ancient trade route between Mysore and the Malabar Coast. It contains carvings that suggest that they were created by civilized prehistoric people.
After lunch, you will leave for a boat ride in the scenic Pukot Lake.
You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.
DAY 09 Wayanad – Calicut ( 90 Kms - 2 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Calicut. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards, you wil visit the Pazhassiraja Museum, a treasure trove for art lovers. You will also visit the Vasco De Gama Beach – it is believed that Vasco Da Gama first arrived here from Portugal. Next you will visit the Muchundipalli mosque, one of the oldest in the region.
You will then return to your hotel and have some free time to relax at the beach. You will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 10 Calicut
After breakfast, you will leave for the Calicut airport to catch your flight home.
EXTENSION COCHIN
Day 10 Calicut - Cochin
After breakfast, you will take the morning train to Cochin. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.
In the evening, you will witness a traditional Kathakali dance, which involves the stunning use of masks, and make up. You will return to your hotel. You will have dinner at a sea-food restaurant with local specialties and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 11 Cochin
After breakfast, you will explore the city of Cochin. You will visit Fort Cochin with its wealth of colonial architecture. The extraordinary Chinese fishing nets are a sight to behold. These unusual, elegantly balanced, shore operated fishnets are 10m high and rumored to be of Chinese origin, possibly introduced by Zhang He.
The Jewish synagogue in Cochin was built in 1568 and is of great historical importance. No visit to Cochin is complete without viewing its attractive collections. You will also visit the Mattancherry or Dutch Palace. It was constructed by the Portuguese and gifted to the Raja of Kochi in 1555. It was created in the traditional style of architecture with a courtyard in the centre. It houses some of the finest murals of Hindu temple art.
You will have an authentic lunch with a Syrian Christian family and get a taste of the local culture.
You will have the evening at leisure to relax. You will have a special sea food dinner and head to the airport and to catch your return flight.
EXTENSION COCHIN & KOMARAKOM
Day 10 Calicut - Cochin
After breakfast, you will take the morning train to Cochin. Here you will check in to your hotel and have lunch.

Day 12 Cochin – Komarakom ( 65 Kms - 1 Hrs )
After breakfast, you will leave for Alleppey. You will spend the day on cruise on the backwaters and have lunch on board. You will return to your hotel and have some free time to enjoy an Ayruvedic massage. You will then have dinner and spend the night.
Day 13 Komarakom
After breakfast, you will visit some of the old churches dating back to the 1500’s in Kottayam. You will also get a chance to explore the local market. You will return to your hotel for lunch. Afterwards, you will enjoy a sunset cruise before returning to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 14 Komarakom – Cochin 100 Kms (02 Hrs)
After breakfast this morning, you will head to Cochin to catch your return flight.
