Day 01 Delhi

On arrival, your Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport, and accompany you to your hotel to help you with the check–in formalities. You will spend the night here.

Day 02 Delhi - Dibrugarh

This morning, you will have breakfast and catch your flight to Dibrugarh. Your Kamalan representative will help you check in to your hotel. You will have the evening to relax and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 03 Dibrugarh

This morning, after breakfast, you will visit the Namphake village with a packed lunch. Inhabited by the Tai Phake tribes, the village famous for its spectacular sunsets. On your way back to the hotel, you will visit the Bells Temple. This temple has approximately 200,000 bells hung on a banyan tree by devotees praying for their wishes to be fulfilled.

In the evening, you will enjoy a traditional meal along with local cultural performances. You will then spend the night at your hotel.

Day 04 Dibrugarh – Jorhat ( 140 Kms - 4 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head to Jorhat. Once the capital of the ancient Ahom Empire, today Jorhat has a renowned centre for research on teas.

Enroute you will have lunch at Sibsagar and visit the Ahom monuments and temples. The Ahoms ruled Assam for almost 600 years until the arrival of the British. A cluster of structures built by the Ahoms still survive and include a palace, temples, tanks and amphitheatre.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the evening free to relax before turning in for the night.

Day 05 Jorhat

After breakfast, you will leave for Neematighat and take a boat cruise to Majuli. You will take a packed lunch. Majuli is the largest fresh water island in the world, located in the Brahmaputra River.

You will visit the numerous Hindu monasteries at Majuli that are dedicated to the Vaisnavite saints. In the afternoon, you will cruise back to the mainland of Neematighat. Enroute, you may spot the elusive Gangetic dolphin and plenty of rare migratory birds.

You will then return to your camp to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 06 Jorhat – Kaziranga ( 90 Kms - 2 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will visit a local tea garden. This will give you a glimpse into the luscious greenery and serenity of tea estates.

Afterwards, you will head to Kaziranga. You will check into your hotel and have lunch. Afterwards you will leave for a jeep ride in the western range of the Kaziranga National Park.

Safaris in the Kaziranga National Park will allow you to see the one-horned Indian rhinoceros. The swamps and elephant grass make this the perfect home for the Indian rhino, Indian elephant, Indian bison and swamp deer as well as variety of birds.

Afterwards, you will return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 07 Kaziranga – Guwahati 250 Kms (05 Hrs)

This morning you will head for an elephant safari in the central range of the park. This will give you an opportunity to observe the wildlife at close quarters. You will then return to your hotel for breakfast. After this, you will leave for a jeep safari in the westerns range of the park.

You will also visit the village of Mishing. Inhabited by the Mishing tribals who are known for their unique dress and live in stilted houses.

After lunch in Kaziranga, you will head to Guwahati. On arrival, you will check into your hotel. You will have the evening at leisure before turning in for the night.

Day 08 Guwahati

After breakfast you will visit Sualkuchi, also known as the ‘silk village’. The village is famous for its silk weaving industry and it produces some of the best qualities of Muga, Pat and Eri silk.

Next, you will head to Hajo. Hajo has great religious significance since it has shrines of three major religions- Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism. It is also known for its bell metal crafts.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 09 Guwahati - Delhi

This morning you will have breakfast and then head to the airport to catch the flight to Delhi.

Your Kamalan representative will meet you on arrival.

You will then visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

Next you will visit the Red Fort from outside. Also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here.

You will also enjoy a memorable rickshaw ride in Old Delhi. You will have dinner at a local restaurant before heading to the airport to catch your flight home.

Extension Goa:
Day 10 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa.Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel, after lunch you will visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

You will also get a chance to visit Fort Aguada, built in 1612 by the Portuguese. You will also get a chance to explore some of old Portuguese houses in the area.

Day 11 & 12 Goa

You will have 2 days to relax on the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 13 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you can spend some time at the beach.

Post lunch you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on your arrival. You will have the chance to wash and change before catching your flight back home.

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 10 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 11 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

After lunch, you can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 12 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on your arrival. You will have the chance to wash and change before catching your flight back home.

EXTENSION ANANDA
Day 10 Delhi - Haridwar Or Dheradun - Ananda

Today you can either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

After checking in, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 11 & 12 Ananda

For the next two days, you can try the various wellness regimes on offer at the hotel. Traditional yoga, and Ayurveda can be combined with the finest international wellness experiences to rejuvenate you mind, body and spirit.

Day 13 Ananda - Haridwar Or Dehradun

After breakfast, you will either board the train to Delhi from Haridwar or leave for Dehradun to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on arrival, who will help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 14 Delhi

After breakfast, you will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

After lunch in the city, you can relax in your hotel before heading to the airport. Your Kamalan representative will assist you to board your flight home.

EXTENSION AMRITSAR
Day 10 Delhi - Amritsar

After breakfast, you will head to the station to board your train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. Then you will head to explore the city of Amritsar. Situated in the northwestern region of India, Amritsar is close to India’s border with Pakistan. The city is well known for the Golden Temple and its warm and hospitable people.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch before exploring the city. You will start with a visit to the Jallianwala Bagh. This small park was the site of a massacre in 1919 spearheaded by a British general. This event caused general unrest and agitations and was one of the precursors to India’s struggle for freedom.

Next you will visit the Durgiana temple. Dedicated to the Goddess Durga, this temple is based on the architecture of the Golden Temple.

You will then visit Rambagh, the palace and gardens of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The summer palace has now been converted into a museum holding weapons and portraits.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 11 Amritsar - Delhi

This morning you will begin with an early morning visit to the Golden Temple. This is the most significant temple for the Sikh community. The ‘langar’ or community kitchen serves free meals all year round to roughly 40,000 visitors a day. It is truly a remarkable experience to visit this place of worship.You will then return to your hotel for breakfast.

Afterwards you will head to the station to board the train to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative who will help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 12 Delhi

Day 10 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel.

In the evening, you will witness the Aarti ceremony at the ghats. Every evening, this prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. Ritual lamps are lit, signifying the light of wisdom, offering pilgrims the chance to purify themselves. This deeply touching experience is truly a sight to behold.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 11 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will also discover the narrow lanes of Varanasi. These old serpentine lines will allow you to experience the life of the local people, which is almost reminiscent of a bygone era.

After lunch in the city, you head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts.

You will then return to the hotel to relax and spend the night.

Day 12 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast at the hotel, you can relax or explore the city on your own. You will then head to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will check into your hotel for wash and change before you can board your flight back home.

EXTENSION JAIPUR & AGRA
Day 10 Delhi – Jaipur ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head towards Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture.

Once you have checked into your hotel and had lunch, you will leave to visit the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework. You will then visit the local bazaars of the area and have some free time before heading back to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will explore the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur. You will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

Next you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

After lunch in the city, you will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730.

To enjoy the local flavor of the area, you will experience a rickshaw ride through the local bazaars. You will then return to your hotel, where you will have your evening free before you turn in for the night.

Day 12 Jaipur – Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box.

You will then head back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 13 Agra – Delhi ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Early this morning you see the magnificent Taj Mahal.Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Enperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

You will return to your hotel for breakfast. Next you will visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.

After lunch, you will have some free time to explore the city at leisure. After dinner, you leave for the airport to board your return flight.

EXTENSION KOLKATA, BHUBANESHWAR & PURI
Day 09 Guwahati - Kolkata

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to board your flight to Kolkata. On arrival, you will be met by your Kamalan representative you will help you check into your hotel.

After lunch, you will visit the Indian Museum. The Indian Museum is one of the oldest in Asia and contains one of the largest repositories of museum objects in India.

You will return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 Kolkata - Bhubaneshwar

After breakfast, you will visit the Victoria Memorial. Built to commemorate the British Raj in India, this sprawling Hall is a fine example of British architecture in India. Today it serves as a museum with a collection of memorabilia.

Next you will visit the Kali Mandir. This temple, dedicated to the Goddess Kali, attracts thousands of pilgrims every year.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will head to the Coffee House. This is a famous landmark for locals, and has served many famous artists and literary figures.

The city of Kolkota is home to many colonial buildings, a throw back to the days of the British Raj. The buildings of this period have been preserved and are now deemed as ‘heritage structures’.

In the evening will visit Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity Centre. Mother Teresa left a long and profound legacy of charity and caring – having laid the foundation for many orphanages and convalescent homes.

After dinner, you will head to the railway station to catch the train to Bhubaneshwar.

Day 11 Bhubaneshwar

On arrival, your Kamalan representative will help you check into your hotel. After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax.

After lunch you will visit the temples of Bhubaneshwar. The city is known as the ‘land of a thousand temples’. Most of these were built before the 10th century.

Next you will visit the famous Jain caves of Bhubaneshwar. The coarse sandstone caves are a throwback to the austere lives of the Jain monks who made these caves their home.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 12 Bhubaneshwar – Konark - Puri ( 65 Kms - 1 Hrs 30 )

This morning, you leave for Puri after breakfast. En route you will visit the Konark temple. The Sun temple at Konark is magnificent example of Orissan architecture. It was built in the 13th century in the shape of a chariot carrying the Sun God.

On arrival in Puri, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. Next you will visit the Jagannath temple. This magnificent temple was constructed in the 12th century. It is most famous for its annual chariot festival during which the main temple deities are hauled on decorated chariots.

Next you can take a walk along the Puri beach. The beaches of Puri are fine sand beaches, famous for sand sculptures made by world-renowned artists and spectacular sunsets.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 13 Puri

After breakfast, you will spend the day visiting Chilika Lake. The Chilika Lake is the largest brackish water lake in Asia is home to many migratory birds and endangered species of plants and animals. You will then return to your hotel for lunch. You will have the evening to relax and will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 14 Puri – Bhubaneshwar - Kolkata ( 65 Kms - 2 Hrs )

This morning you will drive to Bhubaneshwar to catch your flight to Kolkata. After breakfast, you will have some free time to explore the city on your own. You will have dinner before heading to the airport to catch your return flight.
