Day 01 Delhi

On arrival, you Kamalan representative will meet you at the airport, accompany you to your hotel. You will then spend the night at your hotel after check-in formalities are completed.

Day 02 Delhi - Amritsar

After early breakfast, you will head to the station to board your train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will check into your hotel and can have lunch. Then you will head to explore the city of Amritsar. Situated in the northwestern region of India, Amritsar is close to India’s border with Pakistan. The city is well known for the Golden Temple and its warm and hospitable people.

After lunch at your hotel, you will visit the Jallianwala Bagh. This small park was the site of a massacre in 1919 spearheaded by a British general. This event caused general unrest and agitations and was one of the precursors to India’s struggle for freedom.

You will then visit the Wagah Border. The Wagah border is India’s only road crossing border with neighboring Pakistan. It is a ceremonial border, where every evening, the guards from both countries perform the ‘lowering of the flags’. This moving ceremony attract many tourists on either side of the border.

If time permits, you may also visit the Golden Temple. This is the most significant temple for the Sikh community. The ‘langar’ or community kitchen serves free meals all year round to roughly 40,000 visitors a day. It is truly a remarkable experience to visit this place of worship.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 Amritsar – Dharamsala ( 220 Kms - 6-7 Hrs )

Early this morning, you will visit the Golden Temple. You will then return to your hotel for breakfast. After this, you will head to Dharamsala.

Enroute, you will visit the Brijeshwar Temple. This stone temple was constructed in the 8th Century.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will walk around the local bazaae before returning to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 04 Dharamsala

After breakfast you will visit the Dalai Lama Temple. This is the residence, temple and monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama.

Next you will visit McLeodganj, about 10 kms from Dharamshala. This is a great tourist hangout, with plenty of shops, trekking companies and restaurants. It is also functions as the headquarters of the Tibetan government in exile.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit the Norbulingka Institute. This institute was created to promote and preserve Tibetan culture in exile.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 05 Dharamsala – Manali ( 250 Kms - 8 Hrs )

After breakfast you will head to Manali. On your way there you will visit the Baijnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

You can have lunch at a local restaurant. On arrival in Manali, you will check in to you hotel. In the evening, you can take a walk around Mall Road. You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 06 Manali – Jispa ( 147 Kms - 6-7 Hrs )

After breakfast this morning, you will leave for Jispa with a packed lunch. The drive to this small village is breathtaking and you will have plenty of opportunities to capture the views on your camera.

Jispa is known for its sounds of nature and spectacular natural beauty. You will have the evening to enjoy the surroundings at leisure.

Day 07 Jispa – Sarchu ( 75 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning you will have breakfast and leave for Sarchu, with a packed lunch.

Again, the ride to Sarchu is just as memorable as the destination. Sarchu itself is surrounded by cold desert mountains. You will have the evening at leisure to enjoy the surroundings before dinner and spending the night at your hotel.

Day 08 Sarchu – Tsomorriri ( 173 Kms - 6-7 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Tsomoriri with a packed lunch. After breakfast, you will leave for Tsomoriri with a packed lunch.

Enroute you will visit the Tsokar Lake. The lake has rich deposits of impure salt on its northern shore.

You will also visit the Polo Koanga Pass and Sungo village

On arrival, you will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will take a walk along the Tsomoriri Lake. The surprising clear blue water of the lake is considered sacred by locals.

You will have dinner and spend the night at your camp.

Day 09 Tsomorriri – Leh ( 220 Kms - 6-7 Hrs )

This morning, after breakfast, you will visit the Korzok Monastery, situated on the western bank of the lake. This is one of the oldest settlements in the world, and is famous for its annual festival featuring the ‘Black Hat’ dance.

You will then leave for Leh with a packed lunch. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel, have dinner and spend the night.

Day 10 Leh

After breakfast, you will visit the Hemis monastery. It was constructed in 1630 and is the largest monastery in the region. The monastery is managed by the Drukpa sect of Buddhists.

Next you will visit the Thiksey monastery. One of the finest examples of Ladakhi architecture, this 12-storey monastery contains numerous statues, wall paintings and sacred shrines.

Afterwards, you will visit the Shey monastery. This was once the royal residence and the seat of power. The monastery has large and unique statues of the Buddha.

You will then return to your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 11 Leh – Lamayuru ( 140 Kms - 5 Hrs )

This morning you will have breakfast, and head for Lamayuru with a packed lunch.

En route you will visit Likir. The small town of Likir is most famous for the Likir Monastery. It is believed that the monastery was originally built in the 11 century and is surrounded by the bodies of two great serpent spirits.

On arrival in Lamayuru, you will check in to your hotel. You will then head for a visit of the Lamayuru Monastery. One of the oldest monasteries in the region, the Lamaruyu monastery is set against a stark landscape making the visit all the more spell binding.

You will then return to your hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 12 Lamayuru - Themisgam ( 40 Kms - 1 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Themisgan. On arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have lunch. You will then visit the ruins of the fortress before heading to the Themisgam Monastery. The barren and remote setting of the monastery makes this visit an unforgettable one.

You will then return to your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 13 Themisgam – Uleytokpo ( 35 kms - 1 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Uleytokpo.

Enroute you will Ridzong Monastery and the Thardot Cheoling Nunnery. The monastery is very isolated and the monastic community follows strict rules and regulations. This Gelugpa monastery is about 120 years old and contains beautiful wall paintings. The nunnery is home to about 20+ nuns where nuns live a simple and austere life.

Afterwards, you will have the evening to relax and return to the hotel to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 14 Uleytokpo – Leh ( 75 Kms - 3 Hrs )

This morning, you will have breakfast and head back to Leh.En route, you will visit Alchi. The Alchi Gompa is renowned and celebrated monastery in Ladakh. Built in the 11th century, the monastery is famous for its paintings and architecture.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel, After lunch you will head out to visit Shanti stupa at the hill top constructed by Japanese Buddhist organization for world peace.You will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 15 Leh - Delhi

After a light breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Delhi. Your Kamalan representative will meet you on arrival. You will then visit the Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest and perhaps the best-known mosques in India. Commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan, and completed in 1656, the courtyard of the mosque can hold about 25,000 worshippers.

Next you will see the Red Fort from outside, also constructed under the emperor Shah Jahan, this fort also served as the residence for the Mughal royal family. The British later used it as a military camp. It continues to be significant even today, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister raises the flag here. You will also enjoy a memorable rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi.

Next you will see India Gate, one of the largest war memorials in India. Designed by Edward Lutyens, it commemorates the thousands of soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. This monument is an important landmark in Delhi, with many important roads leading off the Gate. In the evenings, India Gate is lit up and you will find many families enjoying their free time near by.

Afterwards, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. You will then have the evening at leisure. After dinner, you will head to the airport to catch you return flight.

EXTENSION GOA:
Day 16 Delhi - Goa

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Goa.Located on the western coast of India, Goa is the smallest India state. Known for its fantastic beaches and historical churches, Goa still exhibits its history as a Portuguese colony.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel and have lunch. You will have the evening at leisure and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 17 Goa

Afterward breakfast, you will visit the Church of St Francis Xavier. Goans are deeply devoted to St Francis Xavier, and though the church has only one altar, this church offers visitors simple sanctity.

You will also get a chance to visit Fort Aguada, built in 1612 by the Portuguese. You will also get a chance to explore some of old Portuguese houses in the area.

After lunch in the city, you will have some free time to enjoy the beach and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 18 Goa

After breakfast, you will have some time to relax and explore the magnificent beaches of Goa. The many fine sand beaches in Goa have something to offer everyone. Whether it is quiet relaxation, busy flea markets, bars and parties or local cuisine, Goa’s beaches have it all. You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 19 Goa - Delhi

After breakfast, you can spend some time at the beach.Post lunch you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on your arrival. You will have the chance to wash and change before catching your flight back home.

EXTENSION SHIMLA
Day 16 Delhi - Shimla

After breakfast at the hotel, you will fly to Shimla, located in the northwest Himalayas. The British, who made Shimla their summer capital, dubbed it ‘Queen of the Hills’.

On arrival, you will check in to you hotel where you will have some time to relax. Your hotel, situated at 8250 feet, will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. You may also enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi and heated pool. You can take plenty of walks in the trails nearby that allow you to enjoy the fragrant pine forests.

You will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 17 Shimla

After breakfast, you explore the hill station of Shimla.

You will also visit Christ Church, the second oldest church in the country with beautiful stained glass windows.

Next you will visit the nearby Jakhu Hill. Situated at 8,000 feet, this peak allows beautiful views of the town and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located at the top of the hill and is also home to hundreds of monkeys all eager to be fed!

Kufri, located 13 kms away from Shimla has a small Himayalan Zoo as and has a popular ski track.

After lunch, you can take a walk along the Mall Road, which is the main shopping street with plenty of shops, restaurant and bars. People usually take their time strolling down Mall Road, stopping to chat and meet up with their friends.

The scenic beauty of Shimla and the surrounding areas allow plenty of opportunities for mountain bicycling, horse riding and river rafting. You will then return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 18 Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on your arrival. You will have the room to wash and change before catching your flight back home.

EXTENSION ANANDA
Day 16 Delhi - Haridwar Or Dheradun - Ananda

Today you can either travel by train to Haridwar or by flight to Dehradun to make your way to Ananda in the Himalayas. This beautiful spa hotel is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Peaceful and tranquil, this is the perfect location to relax, detox and unwind. The spa hotel offers yoga, meditation and ayurvedic remedies for your mind and body.

After checking in, you can spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 17 Ananda

Day 19 Ananda - Haridwar Or Dehradun - Delhi

After breakfast, you will either board the train to Delhi from Haridwar or leave for Dehradun to catch your flight back to Delhi. You will be met by your Kamalan representative on arrival, who will help you check into your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 20 Delhi

After breakfast, will visit the Qutab Minar. This is the tallest brick minaret in the world, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successors continued to enhance the structure, with the final storey added in 1386.

The next stop is Humayun’s tomb. Commissioned by Humayun’s wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562, it was the first garden tomb built in the Indian sub-continent. The Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale and this UNESCO world heritage site represented a huge leap for Mughal architecture.

After lunch in the city, you will relax at your hotel and get ready to leave for the airport. Your Kamalan representative will help you to board your flight home.

EXTENSION VARANASI
Day 16 Delhi - Varanasi

After breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch your flight to Varanasi. The ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges is considered the holiest city for Hindu pilgrims. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges at Varanasi will remit their sins. It is also considered a holy city for Buddhists, believed to have been designated a pilgrimage site by Gautama Buddha himself. A city of temples, art, literature and education, the atmosphere in Varanasi is completely unique.

On arrival, you will check into your hotel.In the evening, you will witness the Aarti ceremony at the ghats. Every evening, this prayer ceremony is performed amidst pealing bells and hundreds of pilgrims. Ritual lamps are lit, signifying the light of wisdom, offering pilgrims the chance to purify themselves. This deeply touching experience is truly a sight to behold.

You will then return to your hotel to spend the night

Day 17 Varanasi

Early this morning you will leave for a boat ride on the Ganges. This enthralling experience will allow you to witness people offering their prayers, professional washer men doing the laundry as well people waking up to do their daily chores.

You will also discover the narrow lanes of Varanasi. These old serpentine lines will allow you to experience the life of the local people, which is almost reminiscent of a bygone era.

After lunch in the city, you head to Sarnath for an excursion. Sarnath is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. It is the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha taught his Dharma (faith) and is also an important centre for the arts.

You will then return to the hotel to relax and spend the night.

Day 18 Varanasi - Delhi

After breakfast at the hotel, you can relax or explore the city on your own. You will then head to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will check into your hotel, have some free time to wash and change

EXTENSION JAIPUR & AGRA
Day 16 Delhi – Jaipur ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will head towards Jaipur. Also called the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the city of royalty. Filled with palaces and forts, Jaipur is the perfect place for visitors to get a glimpse into Rajasthan and its culture.

Once you have checked into your hotel and had lunch, you will leave to visit the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a popular landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made of pink sand stone, the façade is almost pyramid shaped and adorned with latticework. You will then visit the local bazaars of the area and have some free time before heading back to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 17 Jaipur

After breakfast, you will explore the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur. You will visit the Amber Fort. Bordering the Maota Lake, this beautiful citadel merges both Hindu and Mughal style of architecture. The greatest way to explore the fort is to ride up to it on an elephant!

Next you will visit the City Palace. The City Palace is in fact a palace complex built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Many of the rooms have been turned into museums and galleries allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of Rathasthan’s regal past.

After lunch in the city, you will then get to explore the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory dating back to around 1730.

To enjoy the local flavor of the area, you will experience a rickshaw ride through the local bazaars. You will then return to your hotel, where you will have your evening free before you turn in for the night.

Day 18 Jaipur – Agra ( 240 Kms - 5 Hrs )

After breakfast, you will leave for Agra. The city of Agra is believed to have been founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi. The city flourished under Mughal rule and is most famous as the home of the Taj Mahal and other fine examples of Mughal architecture.

On arrival, you will check in to your hotel. After lunch, you will visit Itimad Ud Daulah. This is a mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Empress Nur jehan for her father. It is believed to be the blue print of the Taj Mahal and is said to resemble a jewel in a marble box.

You will then head back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 19 Agra – Delhi ( 204 Kms - 5 Hrs )

Early this morning you see the magnificent Taj Mahal.Considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, this gem of a monument defies description. The Taj Mahal is actually a mausoleum, commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of this marble wonder began in 1632 and was completed around 1653. Thousands of laborers were employed to construct the monument, that is replete with decorate inlays, carvings and calligraphy. To this very day, the Taj is considered an architectural marvel.

Next you will visit the Agra Fort. This is a 16th century Mughal fortress built of red sandstone and comprises of many fairy tale palaces.

You will then head to Delhi. You will have lunch in the city and have some free time to explore at leisure. After dinner, you will head to the airport to board your return flight.
